Lithuanian Airports’ winter flight schedule: A new route, more European capitals and increased flight frequencies A winter weekend in Prague, a skiing holiday in the French Alps or a getaway to sunny Tenerife – the aviation winter season, starting at Lithuanian Airports on 25 October, will offer a wide range of travel opportunities. The 2026–2027 winter flight schedule will feature a new route to Geneva, returning seasonal flights and more direct connections to European capitals. During the upcoming season, Vilnius Airport will offer 48 scheduled routes, Kaunas Airport 15 and Palanga Airport 6. The total number of scheduled and charter routes across all three airports will reach 77. “Decisions made by individual airlines sometimes lead to hasty conclusions about Lithuania’s overall air connectivity. However, it is important to look at the bigger picture. Lithuania’s gateways to the world are opening wider. This winter season, Vilnius will offer direct flights to 20 European capitals, while flight frequencies to several major European aviation hubs will also increase. Our goal is to ensure that people can travel safely and conveniently, businesses can connect more easily with international partners, and Lithuania becomes increasingly accessible from abroad,” says Minister of Transport and Communications Juras Taminskas. “We are entering this winter season with important developments for passengers – from the new route to Geneva to a wider choice of directly accessible European capitals, including the recently launched Wizz Air flights to Berlin. In addition, compared to last winter, flight frequencies will increase on 15 routes. This means greater flexibility when planning trips, whether for a short business visit or a weekend getaway to a European city,” says Gintarė Norvilaitė-Tautevičė, Acting CEO of Lithuanian Airports. Flight frequencies from Vilnius Airport will increase. Compared to last winter, routes to Warsaw and Helsinki will each gain an average of four additional flights per week, while Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Stockholm and Brussels will each see one additional weekly flight. More flights are also planned from Kaunas Airport, with two additional weekly flights to Edinburgh and one additional weekly flight each to London, Liverpool, Alicante and Stockholm. Flight frequencies to Copenhagen from Palanga Airport will also increase. A new gateway to the Alps via Geneva One of the highlights of the winter season for active holidaymakers will be more opportunities to reach ski resorts in the Alps. Direct flights from Vilnius to Geneva will launch on 2 January 2027. The Swiss city, widely known as an international centre for diplomacy and business, also attracts travellers thanks to its convenient connections to popular ski resorts in France and Switzerland, including the renowned Chamonix resort at the foot of Mont Blanc. The new flights will operate once a week until the end of the ski season in late March. Wizz Air flights to Grenoble, located at the gateway to the French Alps, will also return to the winter schedule. Passengers will continue to have direct connections to Turin in Italy, Zurich in Switzerland and Munich in Germany. Winter holiday options expand with returning flights to Tenerife and Sharm El Sheikh While some travellers head for snow-covered mountains in winter, others look for a chance to escape to warmer destinations. For those planning a winter getaway in the sun, the Lithuanian Airports winter schedule will continue to offer routes to southern Europe and more distant warm-weather destinations. Scheduled flights from Vilnius will connect passengers directly to Barcelona, Malaga, Malta, Larnaca and Dubai. Scheduled flights to Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands, known for its mild climate and volcanic landscapes, will also return to the winter schedule. From Kaunas, passengers will be able to choose direct flights to three southern European destinations: Alicante and Malaga in Spain, and Paphos in Cyprus. Charter flights will further expand the range of holiday destinations. From Vilnius, charter services are planned to Antalya in Turkey, Tenerife in Spain, and Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt. Notably, charter flights to the popular resort of Sharm El Sheikh will operate from all three Lithuanian airports this winter. This will be particularly relevant for passengers travelling from Kaunas, as the holiday route returns to Kaunas Airport's schedule following a successful winter season last year. More European capitals within reach – for short breaks and onward journeys This winter season, passengers will be able to fly directly from Vilnius to as many as 20 European capitals, compared to 18 during the previous winter season. Prague and Reykjavik, two European capitals added to Vilnius Airport's route network last summer, will remain on the winter schedule. Prague is an attractive destination for short winter breaks, drawing visitors with its historic Old Town and traditional Christmas markets during the festive season. Meanwhile, direct flights to Reykjavik provide access to Iceland during a period when travellers have the opportunity to witness the Northern Lights. In December, flights to Reykjavik will operate more frequently, three times a week, making it even easier to plan a short getaway to the land of snow and volcanoes. The winter schedule will also retain Wizz Air flights from Vilnius to Gdansk, launched during the summer season. During the Christmas period, Norwegian will operate flights from Palanga to Bergen. This connection is particularly important for people travelling between Lithuania and western Norway during the festive season. Connections to major European aviation hubs remain equally important. Direct flights to Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Helsinki, Copenhagen, Warsaw, Vienna and Zurich allow passengers not only to reach these cities but also to conveniently connect to numerous destinations across Europe and other regions of the world. Overall, air connectivity with European capitals will improve by 11%, while the availability of connecting flights via major European aviation hubs will increase by 8%. The 2026–2027 aviation winter season will run until 27 March 2027. An interactive route map and up-to-date flight information are available on the Lithuanian Airports website.

AIRINN Vilnius Airport Hotel completes renovation AIRINN Vilnius Airport Hotel, located next to the passenger terminal of Vilnius Airport, has announced the completion of the reconstruction of the building. The expanded hotel, which has 150 rooms and now accommodates 330 guests, has been renovated both internally and externally. More than 10 million EUR has been invested in the reconstruction project.    As passenger flows grow, so does the need for services   The modernized hotel is an important part of Vilnius Airport's infrastructure, especially in adapting to the growing passenger flows.   "The hotel next to the terminal is important for passengers who choose early flights. This service is particularly relevant for business, holiday travellers and guests coming to Vilnius. After the reconstruction, the hotel can offer more rooms, and the renovated building systems allow for more energy efficiency. Practical details are also important for passengers – the hotel has flight information screens, and breakfast is served from 3 a.m.," says Simonas Bartkus, CEO of Lithuanian Airports, noting that the demand for comfortable accommodation services is consistently increasing along with passenger flows.   The aim of the renovation of the hotel was not only to improve the technical condition of the building and the quality of services, but also to ensure that the entire building complex near the terminal would look more integrated.   Bartkus adds that the renovation of the hotel's façade was coordinated with other works carried out at Vilnius Airport, such as the reconstruction of the central square and the new Departures terminal.   The hotel has become more spacious and sustainable   During the reconstruction, an additional 25 hotel rooms were installed, so the number of rooms increased to 150. Existing spaces have been renovated, the lobby, restaurant, conference halls and other areas of the hotel have been modernized. Engineering systems have also been replaced, a recuperation system has been installed, building insulation works have been carried out, and the building's external solutions have been updated.   One of the most important technical changes is the significant improvement in the energy efficiency of the building. Before the reconstruction, the hotel building was of energy efficiency class F, and after the works carried out, it reached class B. According to the lease agreement, the operator was obliged to achieve at least energy efficiency class C.   More than 10 million EUR has been invested   According to AIRINN Vilnius Airport Hotel, over 10 million euros have been invested in the reconstruction of the building. The financing of the project was ensured by Artea Bank, which provided the company with an 8.6 million EUR loan.   "During the reconstruction, the entire building was renovated. A lot of attention was paid to energy efficiency: a recuperation system was installed, insulation works were carried out, and technical solutions were changed. As a result, it will be possible to operate the building more efficiently and ensure a higher level of comfort for hotel guests," says Aleksandras Gribojedovas, CEO of AIRINN Vilnius Airport Hotel.   One of the exceptional solutions of the project is a terrace and an aircraft observation deck installed on the roof of the building. Hotel guests will be able to use these spaces from July.   "The hotel's location next to the terminal also allows us to use the airport environment. The roof terrace and the aircraft observation deck will be an additional space for guests, from which the airport's activities – aircraft taking off and landing – will be visible," says A. Gribojedovas.   Preparations for reconstruction have been underway since 2021   The tender announced by Lithuanian Airports to rent the premises where the hotel operates was won by AirInn Vilnius at the beginning of 2021. The operator acquired the right to manage the four-storey hotel built in 1981 on Rodūnios Road next to the passenger terminal of Vilnius Airport for 10 years.   The renovation of the building was necessary due to worn-out engineering systems, low energy efficiency, equipment that no longer meets modern standards, and the need to improve the experience of passengers and hotel guests.   The design work was carried out by Tophaus, the interior design was created by the In Arch studio.   AirInn Vilnius is a subsidiary of the hotel and restaurant management company Adelita. The sole shareholder of Adelita is the company Nordic Real Estate.

Vilnius Airport unveils VNO Plaza as old Departures terminal becomes the airport’s largest commercial space Lithuanian Airports (LTOU) have announced that on 16 June, Vilnius Airport has unveiled its new main commercial space which has been given the name VNO Plaza. The renovated area of the former departures terminal is a significant stage in the modernization of infrastructure of Vilnius Airport – it will allow to manage passenger flows more efficiently, improve the travel experience, ensure smoother operations of the airport as the number of passengers grows, and maintain the airport's competitiveness through growing commercial revenues. Various retail and catering operators will operate in the transformed space, including the largest Duty-Free store in the Baltics. "At Vilnius Airport, we are completing another stage of infrastructure transformation and opening a new centre of attraction for passengers – VNO Plaza. The venue, which served as the flight check-in hall for decades, is now becoming the airport's largest commercial space. I believe that modern interiors, natural light, new brands and a significantly expanded offering will meet the needs of customers and contribute to a great travel experience. The space will allow the airport to manage passenger flows more efficiently, and additional commercial revenues will allow it to remain competitive in attracting new flights," says Simonas Bartkus, CEO of Lithuanian Airports. "As Vilnius grows rapidly, our airport – one of the city's most important gateways – is also modernizing. It is great to see that new, bright and comfortable spaces are opening up for passengers. A modern airport and an extensive network of direct flights are inseparable from increasing the city's competitiveness. Therefore, Vilnius City Municipality has been implementing the direct flights promotion programme for several years, which helps to establish new connectivity opportunities and strengthens the city's ties with the most important economic, innovation and business centres," says Vilnius City Mayor, Valdas Benkunskas. Fundamentally reconstructed infrastructure – a guarantee of the airport's competitiveness During the year-long reconstruction of the first stage, not only the spaces visible to passengers, but also the "invisible" infrastructure was completely renovated: water supply, electrical installation, ventilation, heating solutions, security and sound systems. The roof of the terminal has been renovated – more daylight enters the spaces, the terminal looks brighter and visually closer to the new departure terminal. The interior, architecture and finishing materials of the space are designed with the new departure terminal in mind and become a continuation of the integral complex. This is not the final end of the entire reconstruction, but an important intermediate step: further works will move to non-Schengen areas. The additional commercial income generated by the new space will enable Vilnius Airport to maintain low charges for airlines and thus remain attractive in the highly competitive European aviation market. It is said that the commercial benefits brought by the new space will indirectly contribute to attracting and retaining new airlines and destinations. VNO Plaza is the main part of the conversion of the old departures terminal, and the value of the entire reconstruction project reaches 15 million euros. It is estimated that the new space should bring about 10 million euros to the airport per year. The largest Duty-Free store in the Baltics The largest Duty-Free store of the Heinemann brand in the Baltic States has become the centre of the new VNO Plaza, where passengers will find not only the most popular brands, but also a significantly expanded range of Lithuanian products. The new store is 55 percent larger and occupies as much as 1,300 sq. m. Special attention was paid to Lithuanian products, for which more than 200 sq. m. have been allocated, and where travellers will be able to buy food, beverages, textiles, perfumery and other products from various local producers. In the store, travellers will also find an expanded range of niche perfumery that is becoming increasingly popular. “Our long-standing partnership with Lithuanian Airports is defined by trust, collaboration, and a shared ambition to put the travelers first. The reopening is a strong next step in our joint journey to further enhance the passenger experience and shape the future of travel retail together.” – says Max Heinemann, Co-CEO of Gebr. Heinemann. It is said that the new Duty-Free store will welcome travellers with a bright and cozy interior, supplemented with traditional Lithuanian ethnographic elements and ornaments. New spaces for everyone's needs With this stage, more than 3,000 sq. m. of new commercial space in the reconstructed part of the departures terminal will offer passengers a wide range of goods and services. Some of the spaces are already open today, and several more brands, such as the Burger King fast food restaurant and the Aspire Business Lounge, are scheduled to open this summer.   The Narvesen convenience store is dedicated to quick pre-flight purchases, as well as travel readings – from press to books. The jewellery and accessories space Marry me by Ribas invites you to a significant gift or a journey that begins with the mood of the holiday. There will also be a niche perfumery and cosmetics space Creme de la Creme waiting for passengers. Camden Food Co. will be a dining option with a healthier assortment, while Le Grand Comptoir will invite travellers to taste Lithuanian dishes. “SSP is proud to open Sodai Le Grand Comptoir in the Central Plaza, marking our sixth location at the Vilnius airport and an important milestone for our growing F&B portfolio. Sodai brings the essence of Lithuanian cuisine to travelers through seasonal dishes, local drinks, and a relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere. This opening reinforces our commitment to creating authentic, high-quality dining experiences at the heart of the passenger journey.” – says Elena Heiska, Managing Director at SSP Finland & Baltics. "The opening of the new Narvesen store at Vilnius Airport marks the end of an important strategic project – we have completed the transformation of all our locations at Lithuanian Airports according to the new concept. This is a significant milestone not only for our organization, but also in the long-term partnership with Lithuanian Airports, which we consider to be one of the most important partners in creating a modern passenger experience. The new store reflects what Narvesen is today – a modern environment, an assortment carefully tailored to the needs of travelers, high-quality responsibly sourced organic coffee, fresh food prepared by us every day, and a comfortable shopping experience at the very first point of travel," says Saulius Žilėnas, CEO of Reitan Convenience Lithuania. The final stage: non-Schengen area The border control of the State Border Guard Service (VSAT) for those travelling to non-Schengen countries is moving to the space of VNO Plaza. The path of passengers travelling to non-Schengen countries at the airport will become clearer and more convenient, and it is to these spaces that further reconstruction works will move. The new border area will be more spacious and cozy, and it should also improve working conditions for border officials. Relevant non-Schengen destinations are the United Kingdom, Turkey, Egypt, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, etc.   In the first five months of this year, Vilnius Airport served more than 2 million passengers, or almost a tenth more than in 2025, and each of these months set a new all-time record. The growing desire to travel, as well as new airlines and new and returning popular routes helped to achieve the records.

Lithuanian Airports continue to renew as new websites released Lithuanian Airports (LTOU) is starting the summer with the company’s new websites. From now on, the online home of all three airports – Vilnius, Kaunas, and Palanga – is united by a common design, more functions and a smoother browsing experience.   “We are consistently implementing LTOU’s strategy of providing the best passenger experience and offering innovative solutions, so we are pleased to introduce our new airport websites that are designed for smooth and convenient navigation for millions of visitors every year. We are entering a new stage in the digital space, responding to today’s technological needs. I believe that the overall design of all websites and the latest features will allow people to quickly find information, help plan a trip and encourage to use various services provided at the airports,” says Nerilė Mažeikienė, Director of Passenger Experience and Digitalization at Lithuanian Airports.   The airports’ websites have been updated after a seven-year break. N. Mažeikienė notes that during this period, passenger flows have increased significantly, the range of services has expanded, and consumers are becoming more and more proficient in using artificial intelligence tools on mobile devices.   The updated websites meet the highest cybersecurity requirements, and suppliers ensure their uninterrupted availability.   New websites – more convenient, safer and clearer for passengers   Before the flight, there are detailed instructions: from baggage rules and the database of prohibited items to preparation for security checks and information for passengers with individual needs.   Transport solutions:  integrated parking reservation, detailed information about the Kiss & Fly area, intercity and public transport schedules. Passengers will also find information about car-sharing services in this section.   After the flight, a convenient electronic form has been developed for the management of lost items, so that passengers can quickly and easily report their lost property and receive prompt assistance.   The improved flight information module has also become more convenient, where passengers will find all the information related to their flight. After choosing their flight, each passenger will find a complete travel plan, from check-in desks to boarding gates. The module also provides information on how long a passenger will spend on average at individual points of the airport before the flight. In addition, a fast-track service can be purchased here with just a few clicks of a button.   In the flight information module, passengers will find information about the air temperature in the area they are traveling to. A module of prohibited items is also presented: those who doubt whether it is possible to take one or another item on their trip now simply turn on the tool, which provides a clear answer.   Passengers can find all the services offered by Lithuanian Airports in one place by visiting the e-shop.   The direction of improvement is determined by the passenger experience   The new websites of Lithuanian Airports are created not only as information portals, but also as an evolution-oriented platform, in the process of improvement of which passengers themselves are directly involved. According to Mažeikienė, a lot of attention is paid to promoting feedback. For example, on the reviews page, passengers can not only write a text comment, but also interactively tag a specific location on the website that they would like to comment, improve, or report an error they notice.   The digital platform ensures a direct connection with the development team: after submitting your offer and providing an e-mail address, the information reaches the LTOU digital channel development specialists. As a result, the company can proactively and quickly respond to the real needs of passengers and promptly adjust the content or functionality of the website.   “We strive for the passenger to become a co-creator – their real experiences and insights help the team to discover new ideas that might not be noticed during internal processes,” notes N. Mažeikienė and emphasizes that the tool is part of the broader LTOU strategy aimed at ensuring the best passenger experience in the digital space. “Since the new platform is designed in such a way that additional functions can be easily implemented in the future, passenger feedback becomes the main lever when compiling a list of priorities. We want to create a digital home that would be as comfortable as possible for millions of guests,” says the Director of Passenger Experience and Digitalization at LTOU.   Record traffic – also online   LTOU manages four websites – for each of the airports, and a corporate one. Each website is available in two languages – Lithuanian and English. It is estimated that websites are visited an average of two million times a year, and three-quarters of visits are made using mobile devices.   Most often, users look for information about flight schedules, connectivity to the airport, security requirements, and services provided – shops, restaurants, parking, etc.   The website of Vilnius Airport is accessible by links www.vno.lt or www.vilnius-airport.lt, Kaunas Airport – www.kun.lt or www.kaunas-airport.lt, Palanga Airport – www.palanga-airport.lt, Lithuanian Airports – www.ltou.lt.
