A modern multifunctional parking lot has been launched in Vilnius Airport, the largest airport in the country. The parking lot has nearly 1,000 new parking spots, a car rental centre is being completed and it also has electric cars charging stations.
“The parking facilities at Vilnius Airport have been significantly expanded, taking into account the needs and comfort of passengers. Most of the parking lot will be for long-term parking, so from now on the opportunity to arrive at the airport with your vehicle and leave it safely throughout your trip will become even more accessible”, says Justinas Stepšys, Director of the Commerce Department of Lithuanian Airports.
The parking lot is equipped with modern security system: motion-responsive lighting, good quality video cameras. There are also wide aisles that allow cars to manoeuvre easily. Heated drive-ways will operate during the cold season heated which will prevent slippery ice.
A car rental centre will open its doors in mid-January, providing a heated lounge and everything you might need before your trip: luggage scales, meters, trolleys. There is a plan to expand the range of services provided in the parking lot.
“This parking lot and car rental centre are designed according to the needs of passengers, as well as the most innovative solutions available at other European airports. We are delighted with the successful implementation of this project and hope that from now on the start or end of a trip at Vilnius Airport will be even more convenient for both locals and tourists arriving in the country”, comments J. Stepšys.
Booking a spot in the parking lot will also be available in advance via the Unipark unified booking system or on Vilnius Airport website and can be paid for in a variety of convenient ways: online, using UniPark mobile application or on-site.
7 international service providers will offer their services in the car rental centre: “Sixt”, “Hertz”, “Europcar”, “Enterprise”, “Green Motion”, “Panek” and “ACE Rent A Car”.
