Vilnius Airport terminal is undergoing renovation

The terminal will offer a wider range of services and products to the airport’s customers. This will be achieved because of the terminal’s renovation that started in March earlier this year. Although not visible to passengers, workers have been busy and have already dismantled the old terminal divider screens, escalator, and engineering systems. In addition, they began shaping the space for the new shops, as well as installing new floors and passenger lifts.

“Currently building works are taking place in the central zone of the terminal, where the dismantling phase has already finished; the new floors have been installed and the border control equipment is being put up. The works on the engineering systems and passenger lifts have already begun. Following the reconstruction, passengers will enjoy a new extended passport control area, modern shops, and renewed departures waiting area,” says Director of Vilnius Airport Justinas Stepšys adding that passport control area for non-Schengen flights leading to gates A7–A10 was temporarily relocated.

“We are planning that this summer Vilnius Airport will see record passenger numbers. Although our staff is fully prepared and aviation safety and passport control check areas are functioning at their full capacity, we advise passengers that they arrive at least two hours before the flight allowing enough time for all the necessary procedures,” adds Justinas Stepšys.

The first stage of the Vilnius Airport reconstruction works should finish by the end of this summer. Following that, a new walk-through shop located behind the aviation safety check area will open its doors to customers. It was designed following the examples of the most modern and advanced airports and will span across 800 square metres.

The store will offer an impressive selection of presents and authentic Lithuanian souvenirs. It will also offer a unique range of textile products representative of Lithuania, accessories created by Lithuanian designers and other unique products. In addition, wide selection of beloved duty-free products including perfume, make-up, sweets, drinks, and gourmet foods will be in place.
