New departures terminal

In September 2024, construction work on the new passenger departure terminal (T4) at Vilnius Airport was officially completed. The next phases of the project will focus on the deployment of technology and detailed operational testing of all systems until the terminal opens in February 2025.

With the opening of this 14,400 square metre terminal, the total area of Vilnius Airport's passenger terminals will increase by a third and passenger capacity will double from 1,200 to 2,400 passengers per hour, who will be able to be served conveniently and efficiently at the airport.

The redevelopment of the transport scheme in front of Vilnius Airport was also completed on August 2024.The traffic scheme has become much more convenient and simple to use for passengers.

KEY FACTS

  • The new building is an A++ energy class building, sustainable construction leads to better performance, higher long-term returns and a responsible approach to the environment and human health. The new terminal building will be BREEAM Very Good certified;
  • The building has two floors and will include a ground floor check-in area with a self-service baggage claim area, common public spaces, cafes and other commercial areas and airline offices;
  • On the second floor, a new security screening area and departure and arrival gates for Schengen passengers;
  • The new passenger terminal is connected to the existing passenger terminal by a spacious gallery, which will ensure comfortable connections between the terminals;
  • The terminal has two new galleries, which will allow some passengers to board their flights directly;
  • The new terminal will be operational in February 2025;
  • The architects of the new passenger departure terminal at Vilnius Airports are Vilniaus architektūros studija.
