2010 10 11 Baggage reclaim at Vilnius Airport has been newly renovated

Reconstructions have been started at Vilnius International Airport (VIA): in order to increase attractiveness of the airport and improve quality of services, the baggage reclaim in the Arrivals Hall has been renovated and reconstructed. Passengers travelling by plane to the capital of Lithuania now can pick up their luggage at a lighter and more spacious hall.

2010 10 07 Volume of the activity of Vilnius Airport is keeping to grow

1.092 million passengers were serviced at Vilnius International Airport (VIA) during the first three quarters of this year, which is by 9 per cent more in comparison with the same period last year. The number of flights and cargo flows also increased significantly during this period.

2010 10 04 Vilnius Airport changes its management structure

A new structure of Vilnius International Airport (VIA) has become effective by the approval of the Board as of 1 October and a stage of restructuring the airport management is about to end. It is estimated that the changed structure of the enterprise, optimised number of employees, reduced management costs and increased labour efficiency will save LTL 15 million next year.

Star1 Airlines regular and charter flights are operated. September 23 flight Vilnius – London shall be operated at 22:10, London-Vilnius at 23:50, flight Vilnius – Girona - at 19:55.

2010 09 10 Stable growth at Vilnius Airport in summer

In the first 8 months of this year, Vilnius International Airport (VIA) served 962,714 passengers, which is a 10 per cent increase compared to the same period last year. In August, the number of passengers grew 7 per cent (148,281) compared to the same month last year.

2010 08 27 Number of Star1 Airlines flights in winter is more than doubled

During the 2010-2011 winter season the number of Star1 Airlines flights operated from Vilnius shall grow more than twice, compared to last winter. Starting as of end of October, the Lithuanian low-cost airline shall fly to London daily, as of the beginning of November three flights to Dublin and as of the beginning of January – three weekly flights to Milan shall be operated every week.
