2010 03 04 airBaltic Launches Vilnius-London Route

airBaltic made a press release:

On March 4, the Latvian national airline airBaltic is launching flights between Vilnius and Gatwick Airport in London.

 

2010 03 03 Passengers' flows are rising at Vilnius airport

Vilnius International airport (VIA) in February this year served 84 242 passengers, that   makes 11 per. growth comparing to the same period last year. During the second month of this year the number of flights increased (by 27 per cent) and quantity of cargo carried via the airport (by 29 per cent).

2010 02 09 Minister of Transport and Communications: "Ryanair" is expanding to Lithuania and considers a possibility to carry out flights from Vilnius”

Ministry of Transport and Communications made a press release:

Minister of Transport and Communications, Eligijus Masiulis and the Manager of the airline “Ryanair”, Michael O‘Leary, informed about an agreement today on the base of which, in May already, the first “Ryanair” depot  shall be established in the Middle Europe. “Ryanair” is also increasing the number of direct flights from Kaunas, and  in general 18 European airports will be accessible by airplanes from Kaunas. Further development of “Ryanair” activities in Lithuania is also addressed, the company is considering plans of beginning flights from Vilnius and Palanga airports. 

2010 02 04 New service for business clients at Vilnius airport

Vilnius International Airport (VIA) offers a new “Fast track” service for business-class travelers since February.   The business clients, who obtain this service, will be able to use a separate entrance where the procedures before a flight go faster.   

2010 02 02 Minister of Transport and Communications: “Airlines see perspectives in Lithuanian airports”

Ministry of Transport and Communications of Lithuania made a press release:

Today the Minister of Transport and Communications, Eligijus Masiulis, met a representative of an Irish low-cost airline “Ryanair”, responsible for a route development. During the meeting, the perspectives of activities of the airline company in the Lithuanian airports were discussed.

 

2010 02 02 Vilnius International Airport accepted the aircrafts that could not land in Riga

On Monday evening, Vilnius International Airport (VIA) accepted 4 “airBaltic” aircrafts that could not land in Riga due to bad weather conditions.

2010 01 28 Star1 Airlines opens new route to Edinburgh

Star1 Airlines made a press release:

Lithuanian low-cost carrier Star1 Airlines offers five routes from Vilnius during the summer season. The company introduces the destination of Edinburgh, continues direct flights to London and Milan, and restores seasonal flights to Dublin and Girona (Barcelona). The summer season ticket sales have already begun.
