Air Lituanica to increase the number of flights in spring
As of March the airline Air Lituanica starts increasing the frequency of flights on regular routes. After the spring schedule is expanded, 30 percent more seats will be offered to passengers on the flights operated by Air Lituanica.

Since 7th of February passengers flying to the airports of the Russian Federation are not allowed to carry in their hand baggage any liquid with the exception of baby food and liquid medicines vitally needed during the trip.

SAS Launches New Direct Route between Stockholm and Hamburg
On April 22, SAS launches a new direct route between Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Hamburg Airport with two return flights every weekday and one return flight on Sundays. The last time SAS operated this route was 2009, but it is now being reopened in order to meet SAS passengers' needs for routes within Europe.

Lithuanian airports: nearly 3.5 million passengers handled last year, business partnership planned for the new year
Over 2013 the airports of Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga jointly welcomed 3.48 million passengers and handled 43,078 flights. Compared to 2012, passenger traffic grew by 5.5% last year; flight intensity increased by 3.4%. A passenger heading from Lithuania at this time of the year, i.e. during the aviation winter season, is free to choose from 20 airlines offering regular flights on 37 routes connecting 47 airports across Europe and beyond its borders.

Vilnius Airport equipped with the second smart defibrillator
Today, Natural Pharmaceuticals, represented by Ulf Oldenborg from Sweden, donated an automated external defibrillator to Vilnius International Airport (VIA), which is already the second defibrillator given by this company. The smart device was fitted in VIA non-Schengen area – a sterile zone of the airport accommodating vast flows of passengers waiting for their flights every day.

New recycling bins at Vilnius Airport
Vilnius International Airport (VIA) starts the new year with a new environmental and ecological self-awareness raising initiative. In partnership with the representation of one of the largest paper packaging manufacturers Smurfit Kappa Baltic in Lithuania, VIA installed new sets of recycling bins in passenger terminals, which are going to replace the old rubbish bins within a month.

SAS Group Year-end report November 2012 - October 2013
SAS Group revenue during the last fiscal year (November 2012 - October 2013) was MSEK 42,2, i.e. 0,5 % less than during the previous financial year. In the meantime, after major cost cuttings SAS EBIT margin increased to 3.3% (during the previous year it was -1.6%). Yet another positive result of the last year is Scandinavian Airlines traffic increase by 3.8%.

First aircraft on the Vilnius-Minsk route takes off from Vilnius Airport today
Today, on 19 December, the first aircraft of the Belarusian airline BelAvia on the Vilnius-Minsk route took off from Vilnius International Airport (VIA). The Belarusian ambassador to Lithuania, representatives of the Department of Tourism of the Republic of Lithuania, the airport and Lithuanian tourism business gave the welcoming address to the passengers on the first flight. The flights to the capital of Belarus will be operated 8 times a week by aircraft CRJ-100/200 with 50 passenger seats.
