June to bring new airlines and new routes to Lithuanian airports
Though the summer season in aviation began at the end of March, most of regular seasonal flights at Lithuanian airports will start in June. Vilnius and Palanga airports will each welcome the arrival of two new airlines; flights favoured by travellers will also come back for the summer season.

Vilnius Airport to launch investment project for aviation business development
VNO Industrial Area is an investment project launched at Vilnius Airport. An 8 ha territory located in the area of Vilnius Airport is designated for specific companies providing small aircraft maintenance, repair and operations (MRO), air freight transport, business and general aviation services. Vilnius Airport is ready to invest EUR 7m in the project development.

WIZZ AIR CELEBRATES 12TH ANNIVERSARY WITH A NEW WEBSITE
Vilnius, 18 May 2016: Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, today celebrates the 12th anniversary of its first flight. Founded in September 2003, the first Wizz Air flight took place from Katowice, Poland on 19 May 2004, launching an ambitious goal of establishing a low-cost airline operating out of Central and Eastern Europe. Award-winning views of Lithuania on display at Vilnius Airport
Vilnius Airport hosts a breathtaking exhibition of the photographs of Lithuania - the views of the country captured by photographer Karolis Janulis from a bird's eye view.  Everyone arriving in Vilnius will now have a chance to see the photos which have already travelled throughout the world’s media - they are on display in the arrivals hallways at the airport.

Ryanair celebrates 5 years at Vilnius airport
Ryanair, Europe’s favourite airline, today (4 May) celebrated its 5 year anniversary at Vilnius Airport since it began operations in 2011. This summer Ryanair offers Vilnius customers a choice of 15 routes including Barcelona, Dublin, London Stansted & London Luton, Madrid, Milan Bergamo and Rome Ciampino.

InterVISTAS to assist in the Lithuanian airports' concession project
With the concession project underway, the Ministry of Transport and Communications and Lithuanian Airports are making the necessary arrangements and sign an agreement with InterVISTAS Consulting Group.  With a great deal of international experience, the companies will assist in drafting the terms and conditions for the concession tender, define the concession aims and objectives and negotiate with participants in the concession tender.

Vilnius Airport received an award for aviation marketing
Vilnius Airport received the Excellence in Airport Marketing award for aviation marketing at the international route development forum Routes Europe 2016 held in Kraków. In the under 4 million passengers category Vilnius Airport surpassed other European air gateways and was only excelled by City Airport Bremen.

Lithuanian airports record 17% growth in passenger traffic
During the first quarter of the year Lithuanian airports handled 17% more passengers compared to the same period last year. In January, February and March 914,000 passengers travelled through Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga airports. The passenger traffic showed a nearly identical growth in all three Lithuanian airports.

Lithuanian airports to offer even faster Wifi
The growing flows of passengers, their needs and the popularity of smart devices have driven the changes in the wireless Internet service at Lithuanian airports. The modern solutions improved the wireless connection throughput and speed and provided an opportunity for even more people to use wireless Internet at a time. What is more, from now on Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga airports offer a free wireless Internet connection under the same name - "Invest Lithuania FREE WiFi".

WIZZ AIR CELEBRATES FIVE YEARS IN LITHUANIA
Vilnius, 18 April – Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, celebrates the five year anniversary of its very first flight from Vilnius, Lithuania on 16 April 2011. Since then, the airline has achieved strong and consistent growth in the country and carried over three million passengers on it low-fare routes.
