Flights from Vilnius to Odessa already launched
Ukraine International Airlines is expanding its operation in Lithuania with the launch of flights from Vilnius to Odessa starting from 26 June. Flights to the city of Ukraine located on the coast of the Black Sea will be operated twice a week – on Fridays and Sundays until 13 September.

Transaero company will no longer operate flights from Vilnius
Starting from 15 June, 2015, TransAero Airlines has suspended its flights from Vilnius to Moscow Domodedovo Airport. The airline company operated flights three times a week: on Mondays, Fridays, and Sundays. All flights have been cancelled up till 25th of March, 2016.

Lithuanian Airports performed a survey on myths that foreign aviation experts believe about the country
Over 60% of foreigners can still be surprised by the fact Lithuanian love pink-coloured soup. Presenting the country with a fun video at the international aviation event Lithuanian Airports had an opportunity to learn the fact. Participants were asked to vote on whether the facts about Lithuania and Lithuanian are true or just a myth. They will be able to test the correctness of their answers next year when one of the most important events of aviation world will be held in Vilnius.

Kaunas Airport presented investment project AEROHUB KUN
Aviation-related business development investment project AEROHUB KUN was presented in Kaunas. This project is the implementation of Kaunas Airport development strategy: the airport, having an excellent geographic location, intends to attract companies engaged in aircraft repair, manufacturing of parts and components, trade, etc. At the moment investors are sought for the project, for which several hundred people will be hired, together with Invest Lithuania.

This May, a few weeks earlier than last year, Vilnius Airport welcomed its one millionth passenger. A comparison of the results of the first quarters shows a 16% increase in the number of passengers at Vilnius Airport within a year.

In autumn SAS launches a new Oslo – Vilnius route
On 29 October 2015 Scandinavian airlines SAS launches a new Oslo – Vilnius route. SAS passengers will be offered four weekly flights on this route: on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

The Latvian airline “airBaltic” will replace “Air Lituanica” flights and rescue the stranded passengers, affected by today’s suspension of operations of the Lithuanian carrier.

Vilnius Airport priority is providing information to Air Lituanica passengers
The airline Air Lituanica informed it has suspended its operations. Today Air Lituanica will carry out the last flights from Vilnius to/from Amsterdam, Paris and Tallinn. According to information announced by Air Lituanica, in order to minimize the difficulties for passengers, all passengers having the planned flights with Air Lituanica on May 22-29 will be transferred to the airline’s Air Baltic flights. Information on transferred flights will be provided both by the airlines and Vilnius Airport.

Vilnius Airport Runway to be Reconstructed in 2017
Vilnius Airport plans to launch the reconstruction of its runway in the summer of 2017. This date was set after a careful consideration, looking for options that will result in a long-term result and cause the least inconvenience to airport businesses and passengers. The runway is one of the most important parts of the airport infrastructure – its quality determines the safety of flights and passengers.
