The airport customs office provides a 24-hour service in the departures terminal, on the left side, in front of the passenger check post. If you cannot find a customs employee on site, ask the aviation security officer for assistance.

You can take small amounts of prescription and over-the-counter medicines for personal use, such as painkillers, medication for fever, digestive disorders, malaria, contraceptive pills, etc., in your hand luggage. We recommend you to take a prescription or a medication passport for prescription medicines. Please contact the airport customs with regard to the transportation of medicines as hand or checked baggage in advance by dialling +370 5 2330317.

The amount of alcohol and tobacco products purchased or carried for personal use is not restricted while travelling within the EU. Each country may set its restrictions on the amount of tobacco products and alcoholic beverages for personal use. It is highly recommended to contact the airport customs with regard to this issue: Departures tel. (+370 5) 2330317, Arrivals tel. (+370 5) 2306117.

We recommend you to contact the embassy of your country of departure in Lithuania or a neighbouring country if there is no such embassy in Lithuania. You can also call the airport customs at (+370 5) 2151370.

If a minor is travelling with one parent, only his or her personal identity document is required. A written parental consent of another parent is unnecessary. If the family name of the minor is different from the family name of the accompanying parent, the Border Inspection of the Republic of Lithuania may ask for the birth certificate of the minor. If a minor is going with a personal attendant, a minor is required to have a personal identity document as well as a written consent of one of the parents or a foster-parent on the child’s travelling with a personal attendant and a copy of it. The authenticity of the signature in the consent has to be approved by a notary or an official of the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania or the consular institution or a senior local government official.

Tell the aviation security staff that you have an artificial limb before the screening procedure. Depending on the type of your artificial limb (e.g. the amount of metal in it), the aviation security staff will either screen you by means of a walk-through metal detector and/or manually as well as a drug and explosive detector. It is recommended to have a doctor’s note but it is not required in Lithuania. In any case, you may ask the aviation security staff to check you in the thorough examination room in the absence of other passengers.

The manufacturers of walk-through metal detectors guarantee that their equipment does not interfere with the function of a pacemaker. Nevertheless, a passenger has a right to ask the aviation security officer not to be screened by a walk-through metal detector. Usually, in such a case a passenger is checked manually.

It is recommended to have a doctor’s note but it is not required in Lithuania. If you cause a walk-through metal detector to alarm, tell the aviation security officer about the metal implant and indicate the place where you have it, and aviation security staff will check you manually.  In any case, you may ask aviation security staff to check you in the thorough examination room in the absence of other passengers.

Smoking is permitted only in designated, marked areas near the arrival and departure terminals. Special smoking rooms are available inside the departure terminal, situated behind the aviation security check. It is important to note that smoking and the use of electronic devices for smoking (such as electronic cigarettes and vaporizers) are strictly prohibited throughout the airport aerodrome.

Contact your bank to block the lost card immediately. If you left your card in the multi-bank ATM, call +370 5 236 1361. If you left your card in the ATM of some specific bank, contact the bank directly.

A passenger may carry syringes with needles, insulin pens, an insulin pump or other diabetes equipment in their cabin baggage, when also carrying insulin. Diabetes equipment and insulin must be removed from cabin baggage beforehand and presented separately to the aviation security officer for inspection. We recommend that you pack all of these items in a transparent plastic bag and store them in your cabin baggage so that you can quickly remove these items and show them to the aviation security officer. Remove the insulin and syringes, and place them in the tray for X-ray screening (screening insulin with an X-ray device is safe, but the passenger also has the right to request a different kind of inspection).

A passenger carrying a non-removable insulin pump should warn the aviation security officer in advance that they have one. Aviation security officers will check the passenger and the insulin pump with aviation security equipment and manually.

When transporting needles, insulin pens, insulin pumps or other diabetes equipment, it is not required to present the aviation security personnel with a medical certificate that the passenger has diabetes and needs to inject insulin.

Sparklers are prohibited in both hand luggage and checked baggage.

Yes, you can, but only after you remove cutting blades from it.

It is not allowed to carry toy guns in hand luggage but you can bring them in checked baggage.

It is forbidden to carry lighter fluid and liquid gas cartridges by air transport.

You can carry a box of regular matches or a regular lighter on your person only (e.g. in your pocket, not your hand luggage or bag). You can bring a Zippo lighter on your person only if the fluid in it is absorbed, i.e. there is a wick in the lighter.

Tradesman’s tools can be carried in hand luggage if their blade or shaft is not longer than 6 cm. You can bring tradesman’s tools with any blade or shaft in checked baggage.

You can carry a knife in your hand luggage if its blade is not longer than 6 cm, it unfolds easily (it does not open automatically) and it is not sharpened on both ends.

It is not allowed to bring weights in hand luggage but you can carry them in your checked baggage.

Legal acts do not provide for a specific amount of injection medicine which a passenger can carry in hand luggage but aviation security staff will only allow such amount onboard which is required for the entire trip (the remaining medicine should be put into checked baggage). A passenger must evaluate how much medicine will be required during the trip and provide an aviation security officer with a logical explanation, e.g. a passenger is flying from Lithuania to London (an aviation security officer sees it in the boarding pass presented at the airport) but the passenger will further fly from London to Beijing; therefore, when carrying a larger amount of medicine the passenger must present a proof of a longer trip to the aviation security officer, i.e. a boarding pass for the flight London – Beijing, etc.

It is not allowed to carry canned foods kept in liquid.

Legal acts do not provide for a specific amount of infant food which a passenger may carry in hand luggage. You can take as much food as it is required for the entire trip (the remaining part should be kept in checked baggage). Aviation security staff are entitled not to allow the carriage of excessive amount in case it is considered that there is more liquid food than required for the trip.

There are no restrictions for medicines. Liquid medicines are subject to relevant aviation security screening procedures. You have to justify the need for and quantity of medicines to be used during your trip, i.e., aviation security officers are entitled to prohibit carrying liquid medicines in your hand luggage, if their quantity exceeds to the one required for the planned duration of the trip.

Medicines (liquids) do not have to be packed in a 1 litre plastic bag. You have to take them out from your hand luggage and provide them to be screened separately.

No, it is not required, but we recommend having a prescription copy with you, if possible. A passenger may need to explain an aviation security officer that liquid medicine is carried in hand luggage is vitally important.

Carrying pate in hand luggage is prohibited, but you can put it in your checked baggage.

Honey with a solid consistency (which does not change shape at room temperature) is not a liquid. This means, that honey of solid consistency, can be carried in hand luggage in unlimited quantities.

Honey of other consistencies (toothpaste consistency/thickness) must be in containers not exceeding 2 liters. The type or shape of the container is not relevant. At security screening, liquids and electronic devices may remain in hand luggage and do not need to be removed separately.

Carrying butter in hand luggage is prohibited, but you can put it in your checked baggage.

You can take a drone in hand luggage, if the battery capacity does not exceed 100 Wh. If the drone battery capacity is higher, i.e., from100 Wh to 160 Wh, the carriage must be approved by the airline. If the drone battery capacity exceeds 160 Wh, the carriage is prohibited both in hand luggage and checked baggage.

You can have maximum 20 electronic devices with lithium batteries, including power banks in your hand luggage.

Solid foods can be carried in both hand luggage and checked baggage. All liquids (e.g. yoghurt, juice) carried in hand luggage must be in containers not exceeding 2 l. All liquids (excluding medicines, baby food and liquids in safe disposable bags) which exceed 2 l must be carried in checked baggage.

Substances or products in the form of liquids, aerosols or gels, i.e. pastes, lotions, liquid/solid mixtures, the contents of pressurised containers, e.g. toothpaste, hair gel, shampoo, drinks (water, juice, lemonade and other beverages), soups, mayonnaise, yoghurt, syrups, perfume, shaving foam and other similar products are considered liquids.

Yes, carry-on luggage can contain no more than 20 such devices. The capacity of a single device cannot exceed 160 Wh. In cases where the capacity of a device exceeds 100 Wh, its transportation shall be coordinated with the air carrier. In casese where the power of the device is between 100 and 160 Wh, 2 such devices may be carried, and carriage must be coordinated with the air carrier. Devices with the capacity exceeding 160 Wh are prohibited on airplanes.

You should contact the airline or a ticket vendor where you have bought your flight ticket. You can also contact a ground handling company which serves the airline directly.

Excess baggage fees are set by a specific airline. Various airlines set different fees, thus, it is highly recommended to consult with the agent of the airline in advance.

Usually the maximum weight of checked baggage is 20 kg, and the maximum weight of hand luggage is 5 kg when going to the EU countries, also Norway, Switzerland, Turkey and Moscow. When travelling to other countries, each airline determines its own baggage weight limitations and excess baggage charges.

It depends on the baggage regulations of the specific airline. Some airlines may add the weight of the laptop to the total weight, others may not. Please consult with the agent of the airline about the weight of the hand luggage in advance.

Usually you can have a single piece of hand luggage. However, the exact quantity of hand luggage depends on the baggage regulations of the specific airline, e.g. Ryanair allows two pieces of hand luggage, while Wizzair only allows one piece. An airline or a broker should provide you with necessary information on the time and procedure of passenger check-in in advance. Unless you have been informed otherwise, the check-in procedure usually starts two hours before a flight and closes 45 minutes before the departure time.

You can also check-in online. If you only carry hand luggage, you can go straight to the security check point. Go to passenger check-in desks if you have checked baggage.

You should have received an electronic ticket to your e-mail when buying your tickets online. You have to print it out and bring it to the airport. The usual check-in procedure applies. The State Border Guard Service specifies that passengers can travel with the ID card in the majority of European countries, except Turkey. Passengers, however, must have a passport and a visa, if necessary, to go to non-Schengen area countries, depending on the destination country. Usually, passengers have to get a valid visa issued before departure before going to Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Israel.

TOKS microbuses stop in a parking lot next to the exit from the arrivals hall. Their routes are the following: Airport – Bus Station, Bus Station – Airport. You can purchase a ticket with a microbus driver. A ticket costs 1 euro. No discounts are available.

When going to the airport, keep in mind the traffic in the streets and plan your time accordingly to avoid being late for your flight. We highly recommend to have an extra half an hour or even an hour when travelling to Vilnius Airport during rush hours.

Yes. VAT invoices are issued at a 24-hour service cash-desk of the multi-storey parking lot. If you paid for car parking at an automatic payment machine, you have to bring a receipt if you need an invoice.

You can leave your car for twenty-four hours or more at the airport in seven long-term parking lots. We recommend you to book a spot in advance via our electronic shop. If you do not book a spot in advance, you can use 3 long-term parking lots.

You can pay for short-term parking by card and cash, which you can withdraw from ATMs at the airport. You can use 10, 20, 50 cent, 1 and 2 euro coins and 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 euro notes.

There are no restrictions for solid medicines (e.g. tablets, powder medicines) in your hand luggage. Liquid medicines can be carried in hand luggage in containers not exceeding 2 l. You can take as many containers as you can fit into a 1 litre resealable plastic bag (you can put liquid cosmetics, contact lens solution, cough medications, etc. into it).

Any electronic cigarettes (including those that evaporate or heat e-liquids, tobacco) allowed to be carried only in hand luggage. They are not allowed to carry them in checked baggage. During the flight, the electric cigarettes must be protected from unintentional switching on, and it is prohibited for the passenger to load during flight. The power of an electronic cigarette battery may not exceed 100 Wh.
